2014 International Educational and Cultural Exchange

1. Purpose

(1) The program is intended to understand the variety of world culture through exchange with the schools in other countries.

(2) The program is intended to make students be trained in English immersion environment and be the global leader who has communicative competence.

(3) The program is intended to increase the understanding of world culture and make teachers improve their professionalism.

(4) The program is intended to build the way of exchanging the culture by on-line such as like e-mail, Kakao talk(It is a kind of text message most Korean use) and Facebook and off-line exchange.

(5) The program is intended to reduce private education expenses by expanding the opportunities to experience English.

2. Date

: The brief plan is scheduled on January(A trip of five days and six nights)

3. The number of participants

: A total number of participants is 23-35.

(1) 20-30 students who are selected among the 1st grade students

(2) 3-5 teachers

4. Place and Schedule

: Thailand (Detailed schedules and the places are changeable.)

(1) A visit to a middle school in Thailand ; joint activities and culture exchange events (learning activities and experience activity tasks)

(2) A Field trip to travel Thailand historic sites and attractions

5. Expectation Effectiveness 

1) Students can broad their understanding of countries in Southeast Asia by visiting the places with regard to history, culture and environment of Thailand.

2) Students can be motivated and improve communicative competence by increasing their opportunities of speaking English.

3) Students can understand multi-culture and keep mind on participating in International society.

4) Students can be sociable through interacting with each other.

5) Students can have their own identity and be proud of their own country by letting students

of Thailand teach the concept of filial duty through home-stay.

6) We can raise our school's pride in local community by making competent students who have global understanding and manner.

7) Students can have a sense of gratitude for Thailand participating in the Korean war and have consideration of other people.

8) We can understand each other based on the Buddhist nation.

9) Students can experience a temperate climate and a subtropical climate.

10) Teachers seek the globalization of innovative school by examining the superiority of Thailand education.

6. About the ‘Deokjang middle school’

Deokjang middle school is a public middle school which is located in Uiwang, Gyeonggido, South Korea. Founded on May 30th, 2010, it is an innovation school. As of April, 2014, it serves 359 students with 62 staffs and faculties. We have 15 classes in total. It consists of five classes for each grade. The school motto is 'Dream, Hope, Challenge', which leads to the educational objective that it brings up the person of wisdom and total integrity. The symbols of the school are pine and corni. Our school seeks nine distinctive tasks as following. 1) Creativity and Intelligence education based on the learning-centered classes,

8) The participation of Education community as democratic decision-maker, and
9) The realization of students' dream and talent through
managing education system by Deokjang Middle School.
